Announcing a new blog for our 1 year anniversary
Archival Archive is the new blog for NRCPA.org and the Rostel Photography Gallery. We will try and keep things interesting, if you forgive any grammar / spelling mistakes. We welcome comments, questions and starting dialogs with any readers. This blog comes at a good time for the Rostel Photography Gallery as we have celebrated our 1 year anniversary. We started year 2 off right with a great showing of Suburbia, Bill Owens' iconic 1969-1973 photographs of Livermore / Pleasanton / Dublin where I went to high school and took my first photo class from Mr. Dryfus. We had Bill stay with us for the weekend and I, of course, took him fishing to a very special section of the McCloud river. Bill is not only a visual genius, he is also a manic entrepreneur who has convinced me that I need to be a moonshiner. I have agreed and looking for funding. Mom, I am a moonshiner. I'll name it "Trespass Fee" and use it to get into my favorite private fishing holes. For those curious, Bill incessantly takes photographs. He is never without his digital camera and traffic laws don't exist if a photo presents itself. Bill Owens is the photographer I thought he was and it was a huge honor becoming his fishing/drinking buddy.
